
Dr. Lisa Petronis holds a Masters in Counseling with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Dr. Petronis is a licensed marriage and family therapist.
Dr. Lisa Petronis has been practicing in the field of mental health since 1995 in various settings. She successfully implemented and managed intensive family programs at two major residential treatment facilities before starting a private practice in 2002. In addition, she taught in the Graduate Counseling and Undergraduate Psychology and Human Services Program at University from 2006 through 2012. Dr. Petronis is currently a faculty member teaching graduate and undergraduate psychology courses at John Paul the Great Catholic University.
Dr. Lisa Petronis is a recognized expert in the areas of addictions with co-occurring disorders. Dr. Petronis conducted the country’s first academic study in Clinical Psychology on the Lost Boys from Sudan which produced groundbreaking knowledge regarding the experience of trauma, resilience and spiritual life. In addition, she holds special training in depth psychology.
Dr. Lisa Petronis treats families, individuals, couples, and adolescents. She has appeared as an expert psychotherapist on XETV/Fox, KOGO news radio, Catholic Radio of San Diego and ABC/10 news. Clinical issues within her specialization include addiction and comorbid traumas, anxiety, depression, and ADHD/ADD. In addition, she provides consultation services for treatment program implementation and individualized patient aftercare.
